In January of 2012 HAM opened the Noel Dusan Eye Clinic, located in the Centre de Santé Communautaire de Dumay. Noel Dusan, was the past District Governor of District 13K of the Lions Club International and was instrumental part in helping to first bring eye care to the Dumay community in Haiti. Through Noel’s efforts, HAM received a major grant from Lions Club International in 2003 supporting the eye care program overseen by one of the HAM Doctors,  Dr. Jeanine Flood. To honor Noel, who passed away in 2011, HAM has named the new vision care program and facility, the Noel Dusan Eye Clinic. The clinic is located within HAM’s Dumay clinic and operates one week per month. The clinic will offer complete eye exams, glaucoma and cataract treatment, eye infection treatment, and eyeglasses.

In 2016 HAM received the donation of an operating microscope through our partner the SEVA Foundation, which was transported to Haiti via another partner, Direct Relief International. Starting in January of 2017, a third partner organization Go Crazy, Do Good arrives in Dumay to perform annual cataract surgeries at the Dumay Clinic with HAM’s new operating microscope. Led by Dr. Brian Stahl, Go Crazy, Do Good has traveled to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Bolivia, Uganda Africa, Ivory Coast Africa, and Jamaica performing over 20 medical missions, but this will be their first to Haiti. We are excited the Dumay Clinic became one of their regular destinations.
