Our Mission

In July, Tracee went ...

... on a medical mission.  This was a trip that brought much sad news, but it also gave us a clear idea of how we might join the PEPFAR program in 2009, which would help reduce the cost of our medications. More here.

Our friend and colleague...

... Jean Marc Bazil was killed on July 14.  Many of us, many of our patients, and Jean Marc's friends and family will miss his generous heart and spirit.  Please visit the Jean Marc memorial website.  If you knew him, please add your thoughts in the guestbook section.

Soaring food costs...

... are hurting the poor in Haiti.  Please consider donating your "economic stimulus" checks on food relief for Haiti.   A plea for donations is here, and a report on the first food donation -- on Haitian Mother's Day, May 24 -- is here.

We now accept donations ...

... via credit cards, using PayPal.  Read more here.

Three of us went on an eventful...

... medical mission in April.  Port-au-Prince was shut down by riots and our ability to move around was very limited.  But we did manage to do some work, and we brought home three babies who need surgeryRead more here.

Our first ever art auction in Asheville, North Carolina...

... was a wonderful success and raised around $10,000.  Many thanks to Bill Gettys, to the Grace Covenant Presbyterian church, and to all who contributed for their fantastic work.  Read more here. [link under construction]

What we did in 2007...

Despite serious security concerns and other obstacles, we not only sustained but managed to increase our presence in the lives of some of the most destitute people in the world.  Take a look at our 2007 report (pdf document).

Meet our Bethel Clinic staff

The Bethel Clinic has grown into a consistent and reliable presence in the lives of people in Dumay and the surrounding area.  It takes a dedicated local staff to keep it running on a day-to-day basis.  Meet some of that staff here.
